Welcome to Raising Grundy, a blog chronicling the re-construction of a special town in the Highlands section of Virginia. The new Center bridges two sides of the community—traditional township with new development—connecting the people who make this place a proud home. We look forward to seeing continued positive economic impact unfold for the whole region. It was a pleasure to work with the good people of Grundy. - The Stewart Perry Company

The progress seems to have come to a standstill. This seems to be inline with the whole project from the start. The project has been the victim of false promises and missed progress goals for years.

      Mr. Looney,

We are working with the owner to determine an exact completion date and we will let you know once it has been finalized. Thanks so much for taking interest in the project.

Hello could you somehow give us a over head view with name tags of what each area is called like i hear the words shop b and so on and so on but i have no visual aid. also could i get a bigger photo of the artist rendering of the final outcome.

Unfortunately due to legal agreements, we are unable to publish information beyond what we do currently. Also, the artist rendering is considered intellectual property and we are unable to meet that request.

I am so impressed by how beautiful everything has turned out. I was raised in
Garden Creek and my mom in the Grundy area. I am thrilled to see something
of this magnitude in Grundy. When I was there the last time I thought Grundy
was gone….and I was sad because at one time it was such a thriving ciity. Great
    job! Awesome!

The town of Grundy is placing a fence around the future building site of Building C, the 2-story building in front of the shops. JA Street, a local contractor installed the foundation and will later build that building. The fence is to protect the public from that foundation construction.

I grew up below Grundy in Big Rock.We left for greener pastures in the early sixties, but in my heart they don’t make greener pastures. I am almost sixty now but growing up there was the best time of my life. Kinda sad what is happening, but it is also neccessary i guess. God bless Buchanan county! Thanks for this site too!
