Town Center Paving to Start Early Next Week
With curb and gutter work complete, including the back fill and fine grading, paving is scheduled to begin next week.
The last course of aggregate stone base has been placed, fine graded and tested for compaction and moisture content. We have been released for paving.
Installation of the permanent freight elevator is complete and release for use during the final phases of construction. This has allowed removal of the temporary construction hoist. With the hoist opening, remaining framing, sheathing and EFIS installation was completed.
The parking deck has been cleared of materials and swept clean. Parking striping and direction marking moved forward this week starting on the second floor. Ground floor striping and remaining signage will be installed next week.

I have greatly appreciated your “Raising Grundy” updates! For us natives who now live elsewhere, this has provided us with meaningful progress reports.
While most small towns struggle to find industries to locate there for jobs and tax base, Grundy’s leaders have made large leaps in starting law and pharmacy schools. I am sure that the new town center also will improve the quality of life, and will serve as incentive for financial investments in the community.
Again, thank you.
Glad to provide the information and thank you for the feedback. We’ll continue posting weekly.
This is a great website. It gives direction to a project that for years seemed like a run-away train. Thanks
I was Curious on a timeline of when each of the retail shops are expected to be opening, Also the paper Mentioned a few But What Specific stores can We Expect with the Wal-Mart. I’ve been amazed @ How fast and dedicated the workers are on making this a reality.
